Add to a bath of warm water for a soothing soak, especially for itchy, dry or irritated skin.

Colloidal oatmeal helps protect skin by retaining moisture and is known to soothe dry skin, even helping with some forms of eczema and has long been recognized for its ability to relieve itching. Oats are rich in beta–glucans with a content of 5-6% that can help reduce skin inflammation. Studies have also shown that soaking in colloidal oatmeal can help normalize pH levels in the skin. The oatmeal in Shell’s blend is a unique moisturizer, soothing and nourishing.

The Dead Sea salts are extracted from the Dead Sea; actually a salt lake bordering Israel, the West Bank and Jordan which is more than 15 million years old and whose banks are more than 400m below sea level, the lowest point on dry land. Dead Sea salts are supremely rich in their mineral composition and have been claimed to treat rheumatologic conditions. The minerals are absorbed while soaking, stimulating blood circulation. Due to a high magnesium content skin hydration is improved and redness and roughness reduced. With natural antibacterial properties it is also safe to use on sensitive skin.

Also included is petitgrain, Citrus aurantium subsp. amara, which is the bitter orange, an evergreen tree with a fresh, floral, citrousy fragrance. Both refreshing and relaxing, ideal in an evening bath to help reduce anxiety and tension along with Rosemary, Rosmarinus officinalis, which is reviving and a much valued herb.
