Berbere is a fiery, complex African mixture imparting warmth, earthiness and sweetness to dishes and gives a rich, aromatic and layered flavour to any dish it’s added to. A key ingredient in the cuisines of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Use as a rub or paste on chicken or lamb for roasting and grilling. Add to lentils and stews or sprinkle some onto sauces, vegetables and other sources of protein.
